Side Canvas for ChatGPT
ChatGPT retired Canvas in May 2026. Side Canvas puts your document back beside the chat, in the browser's side panel. Select a sentence and ask ChatGPT to change just that part, review the change, and keep every version.
Coming to Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Free to try: 10 edits a day. Pro is $9.99 once.

Questions
- Is this made by OpenAI?
- No. Side Canvas is an independent extension by Otter Potter and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI.
- How does it ask ChatGPT?
- It types your request into ChatGPT's message box in your chatgpt.com tab and sends it, so you'll see it in the chat, just like Canvas edits appeared there. It never touches a message you're in the middle of writing.

- What does Pro add?
