Privacy Policy

Timecomb: Time Tracker for HoneyBook, and Timecomb: Time Tracker for Dubsado. Last updated October 5, 2026 (added Timecomb for Dubsado).

Timecomb ("the extension") is a time tracker that runs in your browser's side panel. It comes as two separate extensions, one for HoneyBook projects and one for Dubsado projects; this policy covers both, and they work the same way. It is built to collect as little as possible. Everything it keeps stays in your own browser. We do not run servers that store your data, we do not use analytics or tracking, and we never sell data. Timecomb is made by Otter Potter and is not affiliated with HoneyBook or Dubsado.

What the extension stores

• Your projects: the project and client names you enter (or that Timecomb reads from a HoneyBook or Dubsado project page when you click Start timer), that app's project number, hourly rates and contracted hours.
• Your time entries: date, duration, note, rate, whether the time is billable, and when it was marked invoiced.
• The running timer: which project, the note, and when it started.
• Settings: your default rate, currency symbol, rounding, week start, when you last exported a backup, and whether you have Pro.

All of this lives in the browser's local storage on your computer (chrome.storage.local). It is not synced and we (the developer) cannot see it. Uninstalling the extension deletes it, so export a CSV backup from Settings first if you want to keep your hours.

What the extension reads on HoneyBook

Timecomb for HoneyBook runs only on app.honeybook.com. On a project page it reads the project name, client name and project number shown on the page, so the Start timer button knows which project you're timing. In the invoice editor, when you click "Add to invoice", it types the line items you chose into the invoice form. It never saves or sends an invoice, and it does not read your messages, contracts, payments or client details beyond those names. Nothing it reads leaves your browser.

What the extension reads on Dubsado

Timecomb for Dubsado runs only on app.dubsado.com. On a project page it reads the project name and client name shown on the page, and the project number in the page address, so the Start timer button knows which project you're timing. In the invoice editor, when you click "Add to invoice", it fills in Dubsado's "New line item" form with the line items you chose. It never saves or sends an invoice, and it does not read your messages, contracts, payments or client details beyond those names. Nothing it reads leaves your browser.

Clipboard

When you click "Copy lines", or when filling the invoice form doesn't work, Timecomb copies the invoice lines to your clipboard so you can paste them. It never reads your clipboard.

Payments (Pro)

Pro upgrades are handled by ExtensionPay, and card payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy Pro or log in to restore it, you give your email address and payment details to them, not to us. The extension checks with ExtensionPay whether you have paid, using a random identifier it creates on install. Your hours, projects and clients are never sent to ExtensionPay. See ExtensionPay and the Stripe privacy policy for how they handle your information. We receive your email address and purchase record so we can help with refunds and support.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising. Apart from the Pro check above, the extension does not send anything over the network.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stores in your browser. You can also delete projects and entries in the panel. To delete your payment record, contact us at the address below.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
