Privacy Policy

Stand-In ("the extension") checks text you paste into AI chat sites for private data and lets you swap it for stand-ins. We do not run servers, we do not use analytics or tracking, and we never sell data. We never receive anything you paste.

What the extension reads

On chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, perplexity.ai, copilot.microsoft.com and chat.deepseek.com, it reads text at the moment you paste it into a message box, and, with Pro, the text you select when you copy. It checks it in your browser.

What the extension sends

Nothing. Whatever you choose to paste (with stand-ins, or as is) goes to that site as your own message, under its policies.

What the extension stores

Your settings, your own terms, whether you have Pro, and a count of items caught, in your browser's extension storage. The list matching stand-ins to real values is kept by the extension for each tab (never by the website), and is deleted when you close the tab or the browser.

Payments

Pro is sold through ExtensionPay, with payments processed by Stripe on their own pages. They collect your email and payment details to process the purchase; the extension never sees your card details.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share any data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
