Time tracking on Dubsado's Starter plan
Updated October 5, 2026 ยท By Otter Potter, the maker of Timecomb for Dubsado (not neutral; we say where it matters).
Dubsado has a built-in time tracker, but Dubsado's help center lists it under the Premier plan: "Time tracking is available on the Premier plan." On Starter there's no timer, no hour log, and no way to turn tracked time into invoice lines. If you bill some clients by the hour, here are your options.
1. Upgrade to Premier
Premier includes the time tracker (start/pause from the sidebar, a Time Tracking page, and "Add time tracking" in the invoice editor), plus scheduling, Flows, the QuickBooks/Xero integrations and more. If you'd use those too, upgrading is the simplest answer. If time tracking is the only reason, compare the monthly difference on Dubsado's pricing page with the options below.
2. A separate time tracker
Toggl, Clockify, Harvest and others have good timers and reports, and some are free. They don't connect to Dubsado's invoices, so at billing time you export a report and type each line into the Dubsado invoice by hand.
3. Timecomb for Dubsado (we make this)
Timecomb for Dubsado is a browser extension that adds time tracking to any Dubsado plan. A Start timer button sits on each Dubsado project page, and Add unbilled hours in the invoice editor adds your logged time as line items through Dubsado's own "New line item" form. You review and click Save changes yourself. Hours stay in your browser, with no account. Free for one open project; Pro is $19 once (not a subscription). Trade-offs: desktop only (Chrome and Edge), one person per browser, and the two in-page buttons depend on Dubsado's page layout.
